Clean Solar Power opportunity for Sub-Saharan Africa
Tlou Energy’s Solar Power project is focused on generating solar power in Botswana. this can assist in bringing a cleaner, sustainable and secure energy future for Botswana.
Solar energy can replace carbon intensive power sources currently in use with the project is planned to be scaled up to 100MW and beyond. There is considerable unsatisfied demand for electricity in the region that is sourced from clean energy.
Once up and running solar power will be supplied into the local grid and regionally via the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP). Power will be generated from Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels to be located at Tlou Energy’s Lesedi Project in southeast Botswana.
The solar generation project has secured all environmental approvals and a generation licence. Consequently, it is considered one of the most advanced in the country. Tlou also has access to abundant land suitable for Solar PV panels so the project could be up and running in the near term.
